A Certified Arborist, Certified Tree Risk Assessor, Certified Forest Pest Detector, Certified Tree Failure Evaluator and Registered Consulting Arborist, Mr. Hunter has more than 40 years of experience in the arboriculture industry. As a consulting arborist for over 20 years, Mr. Hunter regularly advises on forestry issues in Oregon and the western United States, including tree failure analysis, tree inventories, surveys and preservation plans. He has served as an expert witness on more than three dozen cases and has written hundreds of arboriculture-related reports on issues ranging from construction damage to storm damage, and timber trespass to chemical spray damage. While with the United States Forest Service, Mr. Hunter worked as a crew boss, squad boss, EMT and weather observer for large-scale forest fires and other forest emergency situations. An expert on disease, pests and invasive plant species, he regularly attends continuing education workshops and seminars, maintaining his expertise as new hazards and techniques emerge.
