Experience

Dr. Kanellakopoulos has more than 20 years experience in technology research, development, operations and project management. His technical expertise spans communications, networking, digital signal processing, estimation, adaptive and nonlinear systems, control, mechatronics and electro-mechanical systems, and audio transducer engineering. Dr. Kanellakopoulos has received multiple awards in the field of control theory and engineering, and is a co-inventor of 15 U.S. patents and published patent applications. He has led the technical development of several complex software systems and novel algorithms, including helping to develop technology and products that spurred a startup from $10 million to $50 million in annual revenue over the course of four years. Dr. Kanellakopoulos also co-invented and co-directed the development of a new sensor technology for accurate vehicle ranging using infrared illuminators and imagers. The sensors have potential uses in several driver-assist systems. Dr. Kanellakopoulos has international operations experience in China, Japan and Europe, and is fluent in English, German and Greek. He has authored, co-authored and presented numerous technical articles and papers, and contributed to international telecommunications standards committees.
