Working with organizations around the world, Dr. Boyce has more than 50 years of experience in project design, development and engineering for the aerospace industry, utilities, offshore and petrochemical companies, and turbomachinery manufacturers. He is also an expert in heavy fuels combustion and has conducted performance evaluations on several combined cycle power plants. Dr. Boyce consults for major airlines in the area of engine selection, noise and emissions of aircraft engines. During his career, Dr. Boyce designed compressors and turbines for gas turbines as well as received two patents for surge control and external combustion firing in gas turbines. He founded the Turbomachinery Laboratories and the popular Turbomachinery Symposium. In addition to teaching more than 150 short courses worldwide, Dr. Boyce taught at the University of Oklahoma and served as professor of mechanical engineering at Texas A&M University. He has authored several books on gas turbines, combined cycle power plants, and compressors, as well as numerous technical papers, magazine articles, and chapters in several handbooks on gas turbines, compressors pumps, fluid mechanics, and turbomachinery.
