A Registered Professional Engineer, Dr. Dix has more than 40 years of experience in mechanical design engineering. He consults with organizations such as the Window Shade Manufacturers Association, University of Chicago, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on product mechanical design as well as production equipment and methods. Specializing in patent infringement, trade secret and product failure, Dr. Dix has served as an expert consultant on more than 50 cases for high-­‐profile clients such as Schlage, Black & Decker, DIRTT Environmental Solutions and Rockwell International. As a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Dix taught courses in precision mechanical design, computer aided engineering and mechanical engineering design, among others. He led multiple workshops, including five presentations to the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy in Krakow, Poland and one in Romania. Dr. Dix has authored dozens of technical articles and reports on a variety of topics, including spacecraft design, bioengineering, medical devices and more. A Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Dr. Dix holds two U.S. patents.
