A licensed professional electrical engineer, Mr. Alley has more than 40 years experience as an electrical power plant project manager and consulting engineer. He specializes in switchgear and control systems design, installation, startup and troubleshooting for cogeneration, hydroelectric, turbine, diesel and nuclear power plants, and related equipment and systems. Mr. Alley’s clients have included facility owners, utilities, the U. S. Navy, U. S. Air Force, environmental engineers, and component manufacturers. During his career, he served as consulting engineer for the New York Power Authority’s White Plains Engineering Office and IP-3 Nuclear Power Plant as well as an electrical engineer and manager for the Tennessee Valley Authority, Division of Engineering Design, and the Browns Ferry and Watts Bar Nuclear Plants in Tennessee. In addition to training students on power plant systems, Mr. Alley has published several technical articles as well as contributed to a chapter on troubleshooting in On-Site Power Generation: A Reference Book.
