A licensed structural engineer and licensed professional engineer, Mr. Dickson has nearly 30 years of experience in structural design, field investigations and laboratory studies. Over the course of his career, Mr. Dickson designed multi-million-dollar residential, commercial and educational buildings, as well as designed underpinning systems for the foundations and earth retention systems using soil nail walls, segmental retaining walls and sheet piles. His high-profile projects include the Concourse G renovation at O’Hare International Airport, fatigue and static performance tests of cables for the Kap Shu Mun Bridge in Hong Kong, the retaining wall system in front of Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium and The Field Museum, and the expansion of the Critical Care Pavilion at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. He has extensive experience in investigating construction defects and accidents, as well as evaluating structural damage and property loss. Mr. Dickson has in-depth knowledge of building codes and industry best practices. He has authored numerous articles in technical journals as well as presented at numerous industry conferences.
