An Accredited Professional Statistician, Dr. Fairley has more than 38 years experience in statistical analysis. He consults for a variety of industries, including insurance, healthcare, construction, education, financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and real estate on behalf of corporations, government agencies, law firms, engineering firms, audit organizations and non-profits. Dr. Fairley worked for the Commissioner of Insurance of Massachusetts, serving in a special regulatory group of actuaries, statisticians, and economists. Over the years, his work has included statistics of disparate impact; sampling of insurance claims; assessment of amounts of fraud and theft in contracting and in public transit and parking operations; risk assessment of vehicles; lead paint and medical devices; and catastrophic accidents involving nuclear power plants, oil tankers and hydrogen fluoride containers. Dr. Fairley taught statistics as an assistant and associate professor at Harvard University and served as visiting professor at New York University Stern School of Business and Swarthmore College. He has published more than 45 articles in professional journals.
